JC: Any emerging artists inspiring you at the moment?

SO: With video; Matt King, Gene Belanger, and Alex Hoffman. With photography; Justin Guthrie. With paint; Alyssa Burke. With music; Adeodat Warfield.

JC: Whats your current project all about?

SO: Mysticism.

JC: Where are you currently living and how is it shaping you?

SO: Living in Tempe, Arizona. The desert is like a mirror. It has shown me who I really am.

JC: One piece of advice to recent photography graduates?

SO: All the greatest artists never needed schooling.

JC: Any big plans for 2013?

SO: Continuing the same nomadic lifestyle I’ve embraced since birth.

JC: Favourite tree?

SO: The Sequoia.
